What does your role involve?

I am the Digital Content Creator at Chupi, so my job basically involves all things creative! On a typical day at Chupi, I would be creating and organising visuals for social media, print and the Chupi website.

How did you get here?

I moved to Ireland in 2016 to pursue a Master’s degree in Interaction Design from the University of Limerick. During that time, I also did an internship at an events agency called Pluto which was an amazing learning experience for me. I gained a lot of insight on working in a fast paced environment and producing high quality content for both digital and print media. After working at Pluto for a year, I applied for the role of Creative Content Creator at Chupi and here I am!

What’s the best thing about working for Chupi?

There’s so many things I love about working for Chupi! Everyone here is super friendly and the team lunches are so much fun. The place is littered with pretty and sparkly things and it’s such a lovely workspace to be in! There’s also chilled out yoga sessions on Fridays, which is a great way to start the weekends.

Last but definitely not the least, I often find myself unable to deal with the bundles of joy that are Poppy and Rufus, especially Rufus’ wails during lunch time!

Top three tips for getting into your role?

  1. It’s very important recognise and understand the brand voice if someone were to work in a similar role. So, it’s essential to pay attention to little details and be consistent in the work you produce.
  2. It’s also a good idea to have a strong portfolio ready and updated with your strongest and latest works.
  3. Growing your skillset and being flexible also goes a long way into shaping your career in design!

People or businesses or brands you admire?

I have to mention Chupi here, because I was so impressed and inspired by her story when I first heard it! She’s built such a wonderful brand over the past few years and employs almost around 50 people in Ireland!

I also adore the illustrations of Lisa McHugo, my colleague at Chupi. Having worked with her for a couple of months now, I find her insanely talented and hardworking.

Favourite Chupi piece and why?

I am in love with the Zodiac Starsign Necklaces. Each necklace is cast from ancient coins and they’re so unique in their sizes and design. It might just be my first solid gold purchase!

Can’t live without?

The internet, drawing and steaming cups of tea every hour!
