The latest couple in The Chupi Engagement Series are a couple who are very close to our hearts here at Chupi, Jessie and Rob. Jessie joined the Chupi Team just before lockdown in March, and unbeknownst to her, Rob had been planning the perfect engagement ring since last October! Jessie tells us the gorgeous story of their engagement in Co. Wexford last weekend with the most beautiful Queen of Hearts Engagement Ring.
My name is Jessie and I joined the team in March! My fiancé’s name is Robbie. We met at a New Year’s Eve party when we were 17 and have been together since then.
Rob has actually had my Engagement Ring in the works since last year, when I rang him to tell him I got the job he had to get in touch with the team to make sure I wouldn’t find out. Seven people in total helped keep the secret from me!
We were meant to be on Safari in South Africa but due to Covid our trip was cancelled and so were Rob’s plans to propose there. Instead, we booked an Airbnb at the very last minute and ended up in a gorgeous cottage right beside a Butlerstown Castle in County Wexford!
Rob convinced me to pack clothes I had ordered for my Safari trip, he said ‘you may aswell wear them!’. Little did I know at that point what the plan was! The beach nearby was actually where Rob spent his summers as a child. We sat out in the garden that evening with our dog Rocco and Rob said he was going into the house to get me “a present” this had been delivered while we both worked from home 3 weeks ago and the amazing team made sure I would not notice it was anything Chupi related at all!
I was completely taken by surprise, I had no idea! I of course said yes and I am absolutely thrilled!
Rob told me he hoped he had picked the right edition and when I opened the package up it was a Harry Potter book (I’m a huge fan!) , I opened it up, saw the ring turned back to him and he was on one knee. I was completely taken by surprise, I had no idea! I of course said yes and I am absolutely thrilled!
Rob got the Chupi Team to engrave my engagement ring last minute too. I had told him while working from home about a customer who got a gorgeous engraving on their Chupi heirloom ring, he never knew it was a thing until I had mentioned it!
Queen of Hearts has always been my favourite style and I cannot believe I now have one on my finger, I haven’t taken it off! When I look at my ring it will always remind me of the thought, effort and romance Rob put into planning the perfect proposal.
I’m a self proclaimed pro at taking pictures on a timer so we had a gorgeous backdrop for photos. Rob is also a die hard Liverpool fan and later that evening he discovered they had won the league, he said he could not have timed it better. The weekend we got engaged was also one year since we rescued Rocco & two years since we bought our home together so it all worked out perfectly.
Since I discovered Chupi a few years ago I’ve always known I’d love a Chupi engagement ring when the time came. I already owned a few Chupi pieces before I joined the team and loved browsing in our gorgeous store when I was in town!
We’ve no plans set in stone for our wedding but we are both very excited so research has begun! My friends are also dying to plan a Hen party! We are hoping to have an engagement party when things are back to normal to celebrate properly.
Rob can not speak highly enough of the Chupi Team for all their help in the conspiracy, so I cannot thank them enough. Queen of Hearts has always been my favourite style and I cannot believe I now have one on my finger, I haven’t taken it off! When I look at my ring it will always remind me of the thought, effort and romance Rob put into planning the perfect proposal.
