What does your role involve?

My role is quite multi-faceted. I work closely with the Chupi store in Atrium, analysing and forecasting sales, planning visual merchandising and making sure they have everything they need to keep the store functioning happily. I also work with the production team in studio to get our lovely bespoke pieces made, as well as doing some jewellery assembly here and there to keep the hands in practice!

How did you get here?

I started working with Chupi three years ago, just after Atrium opened up in the Powerscourt Townhouse – back then it was known as the Made Store & Gallery. I started out as a sales assistant, then became an engagement ring consultant when Chupi started making engagement rings. Eventually, I became the supervisor for all our bespoke orders as well as merchandising, sales and stock. We started out as such a tiny team, everyone just had to do a million jobs to keep the store running smoothly.

I moved to the Chupi studio last month, and I absolutely love it here!

What’s the best thing about working for Chupi?

Her kindness. Chupi is one of the most patient, generous and kind people I’ve ever met. She treats everyone with so much respect. I believe in what she is working towards and I am so happy to work my little wings off to help her achieve her goals. Chupi’s attitude to work is infectious, and the whole team in studio works so hard. Everyone here is lovely. It’s such a dream studio to work in!

Top three tips for getting into your role?

  1. Work for something you believe in.
  2. Do your job as if the business depends on it.
  3. Be genuinely kind to others.

People or businesses or brands you admire?

Besides Chupi, who I have endless respect for, Kate Nolan of Atrium has taught me so much about the business of sustainable fashion and the business of people. Brands I love are Mara Hoffman, Reformation and Patagonia for their endless commitments to creating great wearable pieces as sustainably as possible.

I enjoy Miista so much as well. Their Instagram account is a favourite of mine.

Favourite Chupi piece and why?

I have so many pieces that I still want to buy, but my favourite piece is the first one I bought, and that I wear almost every day; a beautiful Drop in the Wild with a gorgeous dark green stone. I wear it on my pinky finger and it makes me feel powerful. I’ve watched the gold fade over time, leaving the grooves of the twig gold, and the surface has become a shiny silver. The piece has grown up with me, so I don’t want to have it replated. I love it the way it is; wild and natural.

Someday I’m going to buy myself the Love Is All Classic Diamond ring for my middle finger. It is filled with fire and magic.

Can’t live without?

My lover, my family, my friends, and my two kitties, PB and Freija. And oat milk mmmm….
