Here’s what happened in Chupi HQ remotely last month

Thursday, August 13th, 2020

With the majority of the Chupi Team still working from home as we adjust to the new normal, we’re communicating more than ever before. Whether it’s a staycation, a sustainability workshop or a team engagement, we’re keeping in touch with each other as we usually would around the lunch table, but instead through photos and Whatsapp.

Here’s what happened in Chupi HQ remotely last month:

We had our first in-house studio shoot since March

Emily & Parijat were back in the studio for the first time since March (!) shooting some of our gorgeous new collection pieces!

Our Customer Care Specialist Jessie got engaged!

Jessie joined the Chupi Team just before lockdown in March, and unbeknownst to her, Rob had been planning the perfect engagement ring since last October! Jessie tells us the gorgeous story of their engagement in Co. Wexford with the most beautiful Queen of Hearts Engagement Ring. Read their story here.

Ann went on a Staycation on the Wild Atlantic Way

Wild Atlantic Way

“We drove the wild Atlantic Way from Galway through Connemara to Clifden, stopping for a picnic at Oyster Bay near Kilkieran. Then on to Westport, stopping at Kylemore Abbey along Killary Harbour and through the Doo Lough Valley to Westport. We explored Clew Bay and its 365 Islands and seal colonies on the Spiorad Naomh Phadraig from Westport Cruises.”

Innishboffin

“Chupi suggested a day out to Inishboffin and we’re so glad she did, it was amazing. We took the Inishboffin ferry from Cleggan to Inishboffin on a bright Tuesday morning and walked one of the loops on the Island.”

Ashford

“We stayed in The Lodge at Ashford and had drinks overlooking Lough Corrib and dinner in Cullens at the Cottage on the estate. To complete our boat trips, we took the Corrib Cruises boat to the deserted island of  Inchagoill. This Island had been home to some of the best boat builders on the Corrib until the 1930’s and is also said to be the burial place of St. Patrick’s Navigator and nephew and the burial stone is still there to this day. We had the most delicious bowl of Seafood Chowder at The Beach before heading back to the Mainland!”

Our store team had a workshop on Sustainability

Sustainability is such a huge part of what we do. Our brilliant assistant store manager Sarah led a workshop on sustainability for our in-store team last month.

Emily went on a road trip in the West of Ireland

“I’ve always wanted to do a road trip around Ireland as there’s so much I haven’t seen of our gorgeous country, and what better time than now to do it! We started our roadtrip in Cork, staying in the gorgeous River Lee Hotel. We visited Kinsale and from there made our way up to Dingle via the Ring of Kerry. We got such gorgeous weather for the drive and pulled in lots of times along the way to take in the incredible views!”

“In Dingle, we went horse riding on Ventry Beach, had fish and chips in Fishbox Dingle and took a boat trip out to see Fungi the dolphin. We drove out to see Dunquin Harbour, Clogher beach and Conor Pass – all were well worth the visit! From Dingle we travelled to Inch Beach to camp for the night.”

“From Inch Beach we travelled to Doolin and stayed in a gorgeous little B&B. We got seafood chowder in O’Connors pub, highly recommend it! The next day we travelled out to Inis Oirr and cycled around the island for the day, finishing it off by seeing the Cliffs of Moher.”

“To finish up our trip, we headed to Galway City for the night. Dough Bro’s Pizza has been on my list forever – I was so happy to finally try it and it lived up to it’s expectations! There’s so much more I’d love to see of Ireland, I’ll definitely be planning more staycations in the future.”

New pieces and a delivery of grey diamonds arrived to the studio

It’s always an exciting day in the studio when new pieces arrive! Last month we got the most gorgeous delivery of grey diamonds. They’re now with our diamond setter to be set into some of our favourite pieces! We also shared with you a sneak peek of our gorgeous new collection launching in the next couple of weeks! This beauty is a two carat Tourmaline flanked by sparkling classic diamonds, the very first of the new emerald cuts you guys have been asking us for! Sign up to our mailing list to be the first to know about our new collection.
