Chupi Team: Our Top Picks for August

Wednesday, September 2nd, 2020

Here at Virtual Chupi HQ, we’re always sharing our recommendations for podcasts, restaurants, beauty products, books, recipes and snacks. There’s a lot of trust here in Chupi HQ – so if something amazing is recommended by one of our team members, there’s a very high chance that everyone in the studio will jump on board!

We thought it would be a lovely idea to share our team top picks for each month with you guys too, it’s always lovely to get a real recommendation from a real human being. Whether you’re looking for a gorgeous takeaway, a brilliant tv show or an amazing beauty product, the Chupi Team have shared with us their top picks for the month of August.

JoAnn, Digital Marketing Specialist

I’m not a runner by any means, but circumstances this year forced me to get outside and get running! An Irish Ultrarunner called John O’Regan created an Instagram account called Together Apart We Run where he shared twelve week training plans for 5km, 10km or 21km with a virtual race in August. Way back in May, I started following the 10km plan and although it was hard, the tweleve weeks absolutely flew by and I somehow managed to keep running for 10km this month! Together Apart We Run have just launched new training plans for 5km, 10km, 16km, 21km and 42km with training to run over fourteen weeks and a virtual race on November 29th. No matter where you are in the world, tell your friends and get those running shoes out!

One of my friends followed the 5km plan and another friend followed the 21km plan but we all ran in our local area on the same day and it was such a good support network to have. The training plan really kept me motivated too! I’m going to follow the 10km plan again over the next fourteen weeks and see if I can beat my previous 10km time!

Una, Marketing Specialist

One of my favourite brunch spots, Pog, recently opened in Howth so I’ve been really enjoying doing the Howth Cliff walk followed by an oat latte and vegan cinnamon bun! Speaking of food, one of my team members Emily recommended The Happy Pear’s sticky tofu recipe for lunch and I can’t stop making it, it’s so easy and really tasty!

Siobhan, Social & Digital Coordinator at Atrium

This month I’ve been gazing longingly and wishing for an outing to wear a gorgeous bless by @imaraearth. It’s a transformable dress-come-blouse made in Irish linen by our friend Amy! Literally two garments in one, both equally dreamy, all ethically made in Donegal. Amy worked with us at Chupi before leaving to dedicate all her time to her label – although I really miss her, it’s so inspiring to see how our loss has been sustainable fashion’s gain!

Rob, UX/UI Developer

I’ve been listening to Lianne La Havas’ new album a lot, it’s brilliant.

Emily, Social Media & Content Coordinator

Last month I read Daniella Moyle’s book Jump. It was a brilliant read – I had finished it within a day and was in tears by the end of it! It’s incredibly raw and honest as well as being packed with humour and warmth. I highly recommend it if you’re looking for a good book!
