Next up in our Chupi Gifting with The Experts series is Louise Ryan, store manager of one of our favourite independent stores, April and The Bear. Situated in gorgeous Rathmines, this stunning store is the perfect destination for those looking for an affordable & unique addition to their home.

We asked Louise to share her tips on gifting and how she is aiming to make this Christmas more sustainable…

What is your favourite thing about Christmas?

Catching up with friends & family and the food!

Do you have any Christmas Rituals?

Since I have been born we have visited my Grandparents every Christmas morning. My parents are from the same place so both sets of Grandparents lived around the corner from each other. It is my favourite part of the day and I am so grateful at 33 to still have my lovely Nana Kitty to visit. Most of my cousins and Aunties & Uncles visit too so it is nice to have a catch up.

What are your top tips for Gifting?

Don’t buy for the sake of buying. We can all get completely overwhelmed and sucked in to thinking we need to buy more. We don’t and the best presents are always the ones that are more considered and you have taken a little time to think about and know the person receiving the gift will really appreciate it. Shop local as much as you can! It’s so important and such a lovely experience.

What are you hoping to see under the Christmas Tree?

I love getting pjs! Also a spa day would be great!

Do you have your eye on any Chupi pieces?

The Solid Gold Love, Luck & Laughter hoop earrings & the Solid Gold Diamond Eternity Huggies – they would look so beautiful together!

Will you be making any sustainable choices this Christmas?

Absolutely – I want to be as mindful as possible about all purchases I make from food items to gifts and everything else in between.
