Welcome to our Gifting with The Experts series! In this series we have spoken to a selection of our amazing, creative friends about their Christmas traditions, how they’re aiming to make this Christmas more sustainable & to find out their top tips for gifting their loved ones.

First up is the incredible Jill Deering and Gillian Henderson, the masterminds behind Jill&Gill. J&G is a brand of award winning Irish illustrators and printmakers working across fashion, design and fine art. Their amazing pieces feature fearless women such as the iconic Iris Apfel, Frida Kalho & Grace Jones.

What is your favourite thing about Christmas?
Our favourite thing about Christmas is all the attention to detail that each of our Mums put into the decorations, food and full on Christmas spirit in both our homes. Spending Christmas at home means switching off and relaxing.

Do you have any Christmas Rituals?
Handmade Christmas cards in the run up to Christmas and a gin and tonic with old friends in the local pub always.
For Jill, Christmas Eve means her family all have breakfast in town super early and then walk down Grafton Street to listen to Joe Duffy live from there.

What are your top tips for Gifting?
No matter what the gift put as much energy into how it’s wrapped as you did picking it out, even if its a pair of socks, the small details like that just show how much you care.

What are you hoping to see under the Christmas Tree?
Like every self employed creative in Ireland, we’d love an extra pair of hands and a few extra hours in every day under the tree this Christmas…
But  a spa weekend would be amazing, a little bit of self care.

Do you have your eye on any Chupi pieces?
We are both Gemini, the ‘We Are All Made of Stars’ necklace would be a rather fitting Christmas gift…hint hint everyone.

Will you be making any sustainable choices this Christmas?
We will be shopping local this Christmas supporting all our creative and designer pals.
There’s nothing better than finding the perfect gift for someone but also being able to support amazing creative talent here in Ireland.
